At The Which Doctor, we like to take a holistic approach to our clients’ health and combine the wisdom of the East with the science of the West. We believe that both play a role in improving our overall well-being, health, and happiness. So, with us there’s no need to choose ‘Which’ treatment will be best for you. We’re a team of Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners, but don’t shy away from Western treatments or practices.
We integrate previous medical diagnoses and offer a variety of different treatments so we can get to the bottom of your health concerns. For us, what will work best for you and your body is the most important thing.
Who is The Which Doctor?
Dr Chloe Stubberfield is The Which Doctor, and leads her team based in South Yarra, as well as practicing out of Cohuna on alternating weeks.
At The Which Doctor, we take our time to really understand which areas of your health you’d like to improve and offer the best treatment or mixture of treatments unique to you and your body.
We have a particular interest in women’s health and fertility and have seen first-hand how Traditional Chinese Medicine can support women with infertility, menopausal symptoms, stress-related disorders, and thyroid dysfunction.
We’ve created a relaxed and welcoming environment that women from across Melbourne can come to, to seek advice and support for various different conditions.
Overview – Treatments from The East
At The Which Doctor, we offer a range of treatments to improve our clients’ well-being. We’ll assess your current health, which can include examining your tongue, assessing your diet and lifestyle and a pulse diagnosis. Depending on your unique medical history, we may suggest one of the following treatments or a combination of them.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a wonderful, holistic treatment that has been used for centuries to improve general well-being. Your acupuncturist will insert a number of fine needles into different anatomical points which will stimulate and have an effect on your body’s energy (Qi).
Acupuncture is a great way to support and balance a number of different women’s health conditions, including strengthening reproductive organs, regulating hormones and clearing blocked energy lines that could be affecting your fertility.
Cupping
Cupping is an integral part of Traditional Chinese Medicine and an effective way of improving overall wellness. It can be used as a treatment for both emotional imbalances and musculoskeletal conditions. Your experienced practitioner will be able to advise whether cupping is the best treatment for your health goals.
The heated cups are gently and safely placed on your skin. As the air inside the cups cools, it creates a vacuum that softly sucks the muscle layer and skin into the cup. This helps to increase circulation and release toxins from your body’s tissue. The stagnant Qi is bought to the surface which helps promote healing, health and general well-being.
Chinese Herbal Medicine
The practice of Chinese Herbal Medicine has been used for thousands of years to support a range of conditions and restore imbalances within the body. At The Which Doctor, we combine herbal medicine with other traditional Chinese treatments to support your overall health.
Different herbs have different therapeutic properties and we may use them alone or in a personalised formula unique to your body. We closely monitor your progress and tailor your formula based on symptoms and improvements. This natural medicine can help you with conditions such as allergies, hormone imbalances, infertility and fatigue. The herbs may be in the form of tea, liquids, capsules or powder.
Overview: Treatments from The West
We’re committed to giving our clients the best treatment possible. This is why we combine Traditional Chinese Medicine treatments with Western practices. Rather than taking the more disease-centric approach of Western Medicine, we like to concentrate on the client as a whole. We do this by adopting a Functional Medicine approach, which can help us to identify the root cause of the problems you may want to address.
We may ask you about your lifestyle or environment in order to identify any underlying causes. As well as traditional therapies such as Chinese Herbal Medicine, we might recommend supplements such as minerals and vitamins if appropriate to support your areas of concern.
The Best of Both Worlds
Your health is the most important thing, which is why we’re proud to offer an array of both Eastern and Western treatments to support you on your journey. At The Which Doctor, we can combine and balance different treatments to improve your physical and mental well-being.
