What To Expect When Visiting The Which Doctor
If you’re in Melbourne and looking for support with women’s health or your overall health and wellbeing – you’re in the right place. So – how do you get started?
Parking:
If you’re driving, there’s free 2hr parking around us on Luxton Rd (which is the road our clinic is on) or around the corner on Barnsbury Rd. Whilst I take my time to ensure everyone is looked after, I also make sure we’re running on time as much as possible! With each session taking around an hour, we find the 2hr parking is more than enough.
Public Transport:
If you need to catch public transport, we’re right cross the road from Hawksburn train station. We’re also positioned between Malvern Rd (approximately 450m walk) and Toorak Rd (approximately 700m walk) which both have trams.
If you happen to arrive a little earlier than expected, you can always get a coffee, tea or snack from our friends next door at Leaf Lane Cafe. Otherwise, take a seat inside and I’m sure you’ll already be feeling great in our light filled reception area with wall to wall Chinese herbs.
Whether you’ve visited a Chinese medicine practitioner before or not, I want to take the time to get to know you, your background and where you’d like to see your health and wellbeing.
I’ll bring you upstairs to one of our private consulting rooms and get you to sit in one of the comfiest chairs you’ve ever sat in. I’ll assess your health through a range of TCM principles including tongue diagnosis, pulse diagnosis, your general medical history and get an understanding of your diet and lifestyle.
Most sessions last 45 minutes to 1 hour. This will include the initial assessment and depending on the purpose of your visit, treatments such as: acupuncture; cupping, and/or; moxibustion.
If you’re having acupuncture, I’ll get you to lay down on our equally comfortable table and place the fine acupuncture needles along various points of your body’s meridian. I’ll then turn some relaxing music on (or leave it off if you’d prefer) for your own private acu-nap (it’s like a nap, but even better as it includes acupuncture).
I’ll check in part way through to make sure you’re still comfortable and then come back shortly after.
As long as you’re using Which Doctor approved acupuncture clothes where I can access your lower legs and arms, all you’ll really have to do is put your shoes back on and grab your bag! I’ll then meet you downstairs and talk to you about any herbs or supplements we’ve discussed, as well as your treatment plan and your follow up appointments.
